MPD’s newest addition to our coin cell retainer family is the BK-913, made to accommodate most 20 mm diameter coin cells. Offering a 23% narrower width than competing designs and weighting in at just 0.8 grams makes it one of our most compact designs yet. The very low cost of the BK-913 retainer will make it perfect for greeting cards, consumer products, electronic toll tags, single-use devices, RFID, and other price sensitive applications.

The BK-913 has two PC pins and is made of nickel-plated phosphor bronze. Its dual pressure contacts not only have a low electrical resistance, but are furthermore optimized to keep a tight connection with the battery. The BK-913 is shock and vibration resistant per EIA-364, assuring designers trouble-free use in typical applications. The battery is easily changed without tools or instructions due to the intuitive design, with the narrow width further contributing to the ease of removal.
Typical lithium coin cells used in the BK-913 retainer include the ever popular BR2032 and CR2032 batteries. Rechargeable types included ML2032, VL2032 and LIR2032 batteries. The BK-913 also accepts other types of batteries with a diameter of 20 mm and a height of 2.5 to 3.2 mm. Our 25 other retainers in this family of products accept cells from just 4 mm in diameter (ML414) up to 24 mm diameter (CR2450).
